Our Story
Alefbe.App is a digital learning platform dedicated to making education accessible to Afghan children and learners worldwide. Originally created to help Afghan children in the diaspora preserve their language and cultural identity through Pashto and Farsi (Dari) instruction, we are now expanding our mission to combat illiteracy and provide crisis-resilient educational resources for children inside Afghanistan.
Our long-term vision is to become an accessible digital education system for all Afghan learners, especially those excluded from formal schooling due to conflict, gender-based repression, and political instability. Through interactive lessons, audio pronunciation, and comprehensive learning modules, we're working to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, regardless of their circumstances.

Cofounder & Chief Engineer
With over 20 years of software development expertise and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, Faiq serves as Co-Founder and Chief Engineer of Alefbe.App. His technical leadership ensures the platform delivers innovative, reliable educational solutions built on a foundation of excellence and cutting-edge technology.

Maryam Faiq Gardiwal
Cofounder & CEO
Maryam Faiq Gardiwal is a Master of Public Administration (MPA) candidate, women's rights advocate. She is committed to advancing justice, accountability, and equitable access to education for Afghan women and girls through both her leadership of the platform and her international advocacy work.
Maryam has spoken at United Nations General Assembly side events, calling for independent accountability mechanisms to address crimes against Afghan women and girls. She continues working with global partners to advance justice and coordinated action, driven by the belief that Afghan women and children deserve meaningful protection, dignity, and educational opportunities, regardless of the political circumstances they face.
